Pamela Marson

1938 – 2026

Earlier this year, we lost a real Friend of our Museum – Pamela Marson.

Pamela was both a founder member of the Windsor Local History Group in 1976, and of the Friends of the Museum in 1991. She edited Windlesora numbers 7 to 28, as well as the early newsletters for the Friends. Her greatest achievement was publishing ‘Windsor A Thousand Years’ in 2000 and aiding the publication of ‘Streets of Windsor & Eton’. She was active in campaigning for a museum in Windsor and met Queen Elizabeth II at its official opening in the Guildhall. She was co-author of the new edition of ‘Windsor Guildhall History and Tour’.

Pamela was an avid artist and a keen photographer with a passionate interest in the history of photography.
