With over 60 members, The Friends are always excited to welcome others who share our passion for local history. The Museum is located in the Windsor Guildhall, a stunning Grade 1 listed building near Windsor Castle. The main Museum is on the ground floor, and our guided tours include the magnificent rooms above.

Explore the rich history of Windsor and its surroundings, from Stone Age farmers to incredible goldsmiths of 3,000 years ago. Learn about Windsor Castle’s thousand-year legacy, and the lives of Kings, Queens, and townspeople, and uncover tales of bravery, tragedy, and innovation—including the creator of the iconic Hawker Hurricane. See unique artifacts like a mammoth’s tusk and the poignant ‘Dead Man’s Penny.’ Visit the Guildhall’s historic rooms, where Prince Charles and Camilla married in 2005 and Elton John celebrated his civil partnership.
