On Wednesday, Tony Davenport unveiled the latest addition to our Museum, a conservation-grade exhibition case. It was made possible by a bequest from his late wife, Hester, who was a very active member of The Friends for many years and one of the driving forces behind getting a Museum.

The inscription on the case reads: “Donated by the Friends of the Museum with a bequest from Hester Davenport (1936 – 2013), a dedicated local historian and author”.

The display case was prepared by our excellent Museum staff, who had organised the dedication event. The Friends would like to thank them for all of their fantastic work. The case now displays some of the important items from the Collection.

Why not make this an excuse and pop along to the Museum on a Tuesday or Wednesday? There’s a lot to see and it’s free!
